GRIVA is an IRS recognized 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization. The society promotes, fosters and encourages serious and accurate genealogical and historical research through many means which include instruction, seminars, workshops and field trips. GRIVA’s diverse membership is comprised of family historians and certified genealogists from thirty-eight states. We seek to preserve the priceless heritage bequeathed to us by our ancestors.

FAQ

Does GRIVA have a library I can visit?
GRIVA’s non-circulating library, which includes books, exchange publications and recordings of previous GRIVA meetings, is housed at the Monument Avenue LDS Family History Center in Richmond, Virginia.

Can I pay GRIVA to research my family?
GRIVA does not do research for hire. We can point you to many resources that can help, whether you need to find a professional genealogist or tips on how to “do it yourself.”

How do I become a member, and what will it cost?
Everything you need to know is on our Membership Brochure. You can print it out and mail it in, or pay online through GRIVA’s Registration Gateway! GRIVA has several membership categories so you can pick the one that is right for you. Memberships start at $10.

I’m a GRIVA member. How do I access the Members Only section?
Please email a request for the password with the name your membership is registered under to mail@griva.org .
