GRIVA, in partnership with the Virginia Historical Society, is offering a brand new six-week course in fundamentals of genealogy. This class series is perfect for beginners as well as those of you who have only sought your family history online.

Beginning Family History will teach you how to use published genealogies, manuscripts, wills, deeds, military, church, newspaper and governmental records of many kinds to learn about your ancestors. The class will meet Friday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to noon for six weeks, starting September 17, 2010. Tuition for the course is $50, which includes a special guided tour of the Virginia Historical Society library.
