Are you ready to create a website to share your genealogical findings, favorite pictures, or family recipes? GRIVA can help!

GRIVA is sponsoring a 4 hour workshop on WordPress, a flexible, customizable platform used by many of your favorite bloggers. Greg Smith, Executive Director of Agile Writers, will lead us from installation to a fully functioning website on Saturday, 16 June and Saturday, 23 June, from 10 am to noon each day.

Topics to be covered include in the first session are:

  • an introduction to WordPress
  • planning and adding content
  • site templates
  • page management
  • adding images and video
  • categories and tags

You will have a week to work on your design. When you come for session two bring any questions that may have cropped up, and learn about additional site tools, widgets and plug-ins.

Greg established Agile Writers in 2011 as a creative method to help writers move from initial idea to publication in only six months. He has worked with hundreds of writers to create, plan, write, publish, and market first-draft novels, memoirs, autobiographies, and screenplays. He is active in Richmond’s writers’ community, participating in conferences sponsored by James River Writers, Virginia Writers Club, RavenCon, and the Midlothian Festival of the Word. Greg earned his BS degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and his MS in Computer Science from VCU.
