FAQ

Does GRIVA have a library I can visit?
GRIVA’s non-circulating library, which includes books, exchange publications and recordings of previous GRIVA meetings, is housed at the Monument Avenue LDS Family History Center in Richmond, Virginia.

Can I pay GRIVA to research my family?
GRIVA does not do research for hire. We can point you to many resources that can help, whether you need to find a professional genealogist or tips on how to “do it yourself.”

How do I become a member, and what will it cost?
Everything you need to know is on our Membership Brochure. You can print it out and mail it in. GRIVA has several membership categories so you can pick the one that is right for you. Memberships start at $10.

I’m a GRIVA member. How do I access the Members Only section?
Please email a request for the password with the name your membership is registered under to mail@griva.org .

Help Us Help You!

Do you have a question about the status of your GRIVA membership? Have you seen a great program elsewhere that you’d like us to bring to GRIVA? Or do you have a question on any general topic about the operation and activities of our society?

If so, please send it to mail@griva.org . While messages posted to this website are periodically monitored, our email account is checked every day. Your question will be answered more promptly if you email it to us!

Reminder: GRIVA cannot respond to specific questions about your ancestors. However, we encourage you to submit queries about them for publication in our newsletter, at the email address above.

Got Mail?

GRIVA wants to make sure our members and friends are always informed of our news and events. Are you receiving our GRIVA Notes in your email?

GRIVA Notes is an announcement email that we send out shortly before programs and events to remind everyone what’s happening. (These messages are different than the emails that alert you to new website posts. See the button in the left hand column of our home page to subscribe to those.) Anyone can receive GRIVA Notes! It’s not just for members, so please direct interested family, friends and colleagues to this message.
